An NGO, D-8 Health and Social Protection, has dewormed 4,000 children in Niger State as part of its intervention in protecting children and pregnant women from diseases.
The organisation also distributed multi-micronutrient Vitamin A supplements to 1,200 pregnant mothers in the state.
It also carried a range of free medical services covering HIV testing, hypertension checks, blood sugar checks, malaria testing, family services, among others.
Other donations included a multimillion-naira laboratory to the Minna General Hospital to facilitate testing and counselling of patients for various ailments.

Flagging off the programme with the theme: “Enhancing Community Health for Resilience in Niger State”, at the Jummai Babangida Maternal and Neonatal Hospital, Minna, the Global Director of the NGO, Dr Ado Muhammad, said 400 delivery kits were also donated along with bedsheets to the Minna General Hospital to support the maternal and child health programme of the current administration in the state.
