In a statement by its coordinator, Chukwuma Obasi, the foundation said infidelity in marriage/relationship rather than economic issues could provoke direct reaction in form of violence by the victim.
The foundation said its finding, which is a product of research conducted in Nigerian prisons, established that six in 10 inmates with murder cases result from adultery.
The foundation is therefore proposing a bill to the National Assembly for enactment of law to tighten the penalty for “adultery, illegal affairs and unlawful carnal knowledge” in Nigeria.
