NIESV to chart pathway for mass housing delivery at national housing summit

The Nigerian Institution of Estate Surveyors and Valuers (NIESV) has said it will  chart pathway to affordable building techniques for providing mass housing delivery at the forth coming national housing summit in Abuja.

The Chairman NIESV ESV. Chika Okafor briefed newsmen stressed that  there are modern method of building which are  not expensive when compared to the conventional method of building.

Okafor who was represented by the ESV. Kehinde Abayomi stressed that proffering other means of building will at the fulcrum of the 6th edition of the National Housing Summit holding from 8-9 Octoberwhich was themed: Alternative Building Techniques for Mass Housing.

He said: “We are troubled with the over reliance of the tradition of building. Building has gone beyond block and water. They are new modern method of building. One can build with plastic.”

“This will assuage the housing deficit rocking the country, and the innovation is capable of producing 1000 units of quality and affordable houses from foundation to finishes.”

He called on the federal government to support in ensuring that the mass housing delivery is achievable.

He noted that the target group are substantially low and medium income Nigerians who desire to be accommodated and in which case, none should have more than one house.
