Six more bodies have been recovered by divers and rescue teams of the Niger State Emergency Management Agency (NSEMA) and National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA).
The Director General, Niger State Emergency Management Agency, Alhaji Abdullahi Baba Arah, who confirmed this said the bodies were recovered between 6pm on Thursday and 9am on Friday.
He said the recovery of 6 more bodies brought the total number of deaths to 42 on Friday morning.
Arah said a search and rescue operation was ongoing to recover victims from the water.

Daily Trust reported that a boat conveying 300 people with the majority going for Mawlid Celebration at Gbajibo in Mokwa LGA capsized, a short distance to the victims’ destination.
