Niger Delta Group Hails President Tinubu for Otuaro’s Appointment, Calls For Understanding Among Nigerians

A foremost South South Group, Niger Delta Integrity Watchdog, has hailed His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, over the appointment of Chief Dennis Otuaro as the Administrator of Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP).

In a statement signed by the conveners, Oturubo Ijoukumo, Famous Ololobou and Samuel Ijeleba, the group described the appointment as that of a round peg in a round hole.

“We hail President Bola Tinubu, GCFR, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of The Federal Republic of Nigeria, for the appointment of Chief Dennis Otuaro who is eminently qualified for this position. Given his pedigree, Chief Otuaro is a technocrat par excellence. The entire Niger Delta region is happy with this appointment and that’s why there’s peace. Our people can attest to the fact that Mr President is a talent hunter.”

“Right from his days as Governor of Lagos State, President Tinubu has been known for assembling the best hands on his team. That’s why we mobilized heavily for him during the election and so far, he has not disappointed us. There may be temporary difficulties in the land, but our hopes are renewed just as the actions of this government points at a bright future ahead.”

Niger Delta Integrity Watchdog also thanked President Tinubu for the pipeline protection contract awarded to Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited owned by High Chief Government Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo.

“High Chief Tompolo is a major stakeholder in our region. He is well respected and this has guaranteed peace in our region. Ever since the contract of pipeline protection was awarded, oil thieves have had sleepless nights and Nigeria has been better for it as our country’s production capacity has improved. Tantita has been arresting members of the cartel behind oil theft and many barges of stolen crude have not been allowed to leave the country.

“Together with security forces and the military, incidents of oil theft are gradually becoming a thing of the past. Nigeria’s natural resources were being frittered away by unpatriotic elements before this agreement was reached. Although we can’t say the problem has been totally solved, there’s huge progress courtesy the wisdom of Mr President and the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation Limited (NNPCL).

“We commend His Excellency over the appointment of Malam Mele Kyari, an astute professional to lead the oil giant firm. Under his leadership, the Warri and Port Harcourt Refineries have been revamped and are now operational. This shows that making things work in Nigeria is not rocket science. All that needs to be done is to have the right set of people in power. Mallam Kyari’s performance in office has shown this. Indeed Mr President is a visionary leader.”

Niger Delta Integrity Watchdog urged Nigerians to support the government and cooperate with the leaders so that the benefits of democracy would abound.
