The Niger State government and CBM Developments have partnered to improve irrigation across 50,000 hectares of land.
The agreement called “The Niger Irrigation Infrastructure Advancement Scheme,” is a step towards making agriculture better.
CBM Developments, renowned for its expertise in irrigation development, is leading this project in collaboration with the Alkhorayef Group, a Saudi Arabian company.
Telia J. Urey, the Chairman of CBM Developments, and Mr. Sammy Adigun, Executive Chairman of Niger Foods, the state-owned Agriculture Development Vehicle, affixed their signatures.
The agreement was signed under the gaze of Governor Umaru Bago of Niger State.
“The Saudi EXIM Bank and Nexim Bank of Nigeria to fund the project. It’s a team effort to make farming in Niger State better, intending to improve the economy and make life better for people,” the government said in a statement.
The objective of this development is to propel agricultural growth, food security and improve economic sustainability and prosperity within and outside the state.
