Osun  and Kebbi states emerged as the most consistent states while Lagos and Cross Rivers states got the best pavilion award.

Speaking at the event, Alhaji   Ibrahim   Mahe noted that the 15 day event has opened up new vistas and created opportunities aimed at growing the market potentials of the craft industry.

“Undoubtedly , from the huge turnout of the participants and the quality of products we have seen on display, the expo is emerging as one regional platform that has great prospects in transforming the Nigerian economy in particular and the African Region in general,” he said.

He said that the success of the event has reassured that the sector has great prospects and when appropriately harnessed and developed, could contribute significantly towards the drive to diversify sources of economy, generate employment opportunities as well as empower youths towards constructive and productive ventures.

Earlier in his welcome address, Executive  Director of  National Council of Arts and Culture (NCAC) Mr. Mwajim  Malgwi Maidugu   disclosed  that 11  countries, 150 NGOs and many states and local governments  participated  in the expo, adding  that there has been steady improvement over the previous  editions.

“AFAC is steadily emerging as a vehicle with great prospects towards contributing to the socio-economic transformation of our rural populace in Nigeria and the African Region in general. The rich, diverse and unique products showcased from the participating countries such as Ghana, Mali, Senegal, Niger, Cameroon, Benin, Gambia, Togo and the host, Nigeria signifies that the expo with the support of the appropriate authorities is expanding to becoming one of the major international cultural platforms that will drive Nigeria’s culture and tourism industry to economic prosperity in line with the vision 20: 20 development plan,” he said.
