Niger State to give 150 hectares of land for FG’s housing programme

Niger State, the biggest state in Nigeria is to dedicate over 150 hectares of land to the Federal Government for the 2nd phase of the National Housing Programme.  

This was announced to journalist during an inspection visit to the already built 80 housing units of the National Housing program located at the 3 Arm Zone, Eastern bypass of Maitumbi district in Minna. 

The Director public Building of the state Ministry of works Architect Kudu Aliyu said the housing programme by the Federal Government will help give a chance to low income earners in the state to also own houses of their own. 

He said the programme will also go a long way to help reduce the housing deficit in the country. 

The houses consist of 3, 2 and 1 bedroom semi detached bungalow. It was observed that some numbers of blocks were built with bricks and the contractor explained that the design was acquired in consideration of the type of weather in the state adding that it is more suitable for the hot weather.
