The longest serving club curator in Nigerian football, Abdullahi Jibril, popularly known as Sara is dead.

Jibril who worked with Niger Tornadoes for nearly three decades died Thursday after he had participated in the team’s morning training program.

In a message of condolence to the family and relatives of the deceased, the Chairman of Niger Tornadoes FC, Engr. Ibrahim Dada on behalf of the management, technical crew, players and supporting staff, described the death as shocking but an act of God.

He said, late Abdullahi Jibril’s commitment, dedication and tremendous contribution and service to the state darling team can only be emulated and will surely be missed by the entire Niger Tornadoes family and supporters.

The chairman prayed to Allah (SWT) to bless the deceased with Aljannah Firdaus and grant the family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.

The deceased who died aged 48 left behind mother, brothers and sisters.

Meanwhile, the club has suspended their Head Coach, Hamza Abara, following the team’s unimpressive performance in the NPFL this season.

Niger Tornadoes have recorded three wins, three draws and six defeats in 12 games this campaign.

Assistant coach Maji Mohammed will oversee the team’s Matchday 14 fixture against Kwara United in Ilorin.
