Addressing newsmen last week in Abuja at the end of a four-day programme as part of the church activities to mark Nigeria’s independence anniversary, the General Superintendent said it is not too late for the country to learn new ways of doing things that will bring about its progress.

“There are times a man or a woman at the age of 40, 45, 50 and 52 wakes up and says it’s like my life has been wasted. I want to rise up now and get something done. And we find some people in their 50s still going back to school.

“If an individual can do that, it’s an illustration for our own country. This is where we are now. From the media, everybody knows that we are not happy but we can take stock, we can think—what should we have done that we have not done? What have we been doing that we shouldn’t be doing? Then with unity, focus and courage we can move on. I believe that there is still a better future for our country,” Kumuyi expressed.

He urged Nigerians not to worry about the present state of the country but be concerned about coming together as nation to project a good image to the world and give the younger generation the kind of nation they dream of.
