Over the course of time, millions of self-employed Nigerians and millions more in the employs of foreign organizations and alien governments have proven the unique brand of abundant native brilliance, grace and excellence of the Nigerian people beyond the vaguest contentions from any quarters.
Every day, across the globe, Nigerians are performing commendable wonders in every way.  Nigerians are contributing more than their fair share in making the world a better place. The point that it is not heralded and often reported does not obviate the fact. The world abounds with good Nigerians. Good or bad? The choice is yours. Unfortunately; it is only the scoundrels and the terrorists who make the Headline News. That has to change. 
Nigerians are beautiful, courageous, wonderful and fantastic people. In the country, what abound as good will are immeasurable, a rock steady can-do vibrancy is found everywhere; effortless enthusiasm and bubbling optimism propelled by perplexing or miraculous expectations. Nigerians are very religious; they observe all the religious rituals with full resolve and no compromises.
Nigerians are also very resilient, energetic, inspiring, resourceful, enterprising, creative, kind, gentle and funny. Nigerians are a dynamic and extremely intelligent people. Alas; within the country, all these powers are focused in the wrong direction. This dynamism, this positively constructive and progressive zest, is barely reflected in the daily existential realities of the nation.
On the ground there is a disconnect, the nation is suspended in a paradox. The nation is overwhelmed by the perpetual crescendo of wild agitations from all directions even when there are no crises brewing; it is a ruckus and rancorous dystrophy. Yet, it is a serene, joyful and enchanting earth if you can navigate your path around the incessant clamours and bedlam.
Ignorance is sacrosanct and insolence is good humour here. Everything that was once beautiful has grown stale, warped or corroded and ugly beyond recognition. Nothing new or sublime has emerged to replace or enhance all that has been lost and corrupted. Nothing trendy but the escalation of perversion and degeneracies.
Heroes gone into obscurity, Sages, Legends and legendary legacies pawned to mercenaries and brigands, cultures and native refinements of very rare and exquisite standards, pragmatic wisdom and fabulous peculiarities of the Ancients, relevant functional social indigenous and progressive modern institutions, simple universal ideals and principles; all, mostly now abandoned wrecks, perverted rituals, ugly relics or meaningless protocols.
Like a body without a heart lumbering along, the country itself functions like a farrago of decadent oddities and profligate excesses. Nothing is sacred and nothing is transcendental but for the appearance of it. How can a people so beautiful and so blessed live in such slime, squalor and filth? Our Children and the world wonders, aghast!
We need organization. We need permutations and inspired guardians. Networks of redundant organic logical systems and a functional culture of popular and progressive social justice values. And more.
The nation needs a new direction; a bold ascension into the committee of progressive nations requires no less than an enlightened, sophisticated, well-informed and progressive citizenry.
The nation needs a host of boldly inspiring and empowering grassroots, positive human role models. We, The People need to acquire a new sense of the self and a broader concept of the ‘wholesome community’ where care, tolerance, trust, dialogue, empathy and sharing become the bedrocks of our daily lives again.
We need a fundamental liberation of the personhood from the straits of ignorance, indolence, fatalism, feudal temerity, superstition and insolvency.
We have to uproot and eliminate all traces of neo-colonial fixations, neo-colonial schizophrenia, gullibility, misadventures and immiseration.
We demand an abiding sense of enlightened supreme national consciousness.
We want a nation where people actually do get services they already paid for.
We demand a focused reinvestment, re-engineering, renovations and massive new capital investments in all states and federally owned infrastructures and parastatals.
The cabled telephone system is the most secure and reliable system in a world dominated by ephemeral cyber degauss and malevolent bots. For the sake of our national security, and the best interest of protecting and safeguarding the citizens of this nation in times of horrible emergencies and catastrophic events, the cabled telephone network system must be rebuilt to the standards of the best in the world and every Nigerian home should have a standard wired telephone.
When the chips are finally down and disaster strikes, the wired or cabled telephone is ever more necessary for ensuring the security of those officials and personnel who are charged with the responsibility for the national security as a whole. Cyber-reliance will not cut it. Review: Hurricane Katrina and subsequent various disaster relief efforts reports from diverse incidents and different locations. 
It is a time for sober reflections and heartfelt introspection. A Renaissance is long overdue.
We want a new nation, a thriving nation. We demand a brand new country. We deserve a better nation. We want a nation where honest and gentle people will also prosper. We want a nation with a liveable living minimum wage.
We want a nation where the less fortunate and the less endowed are encouraged, induced or compelled, uplifted and reintegrated into functional and productive communities.
We demand a nation where every adult is gainfully employed and every child is under the caring supervision of responsible and qualified adults at all times. That is the way it used to be.
We want a nation where excellence, truth, integrity, inventiveness and beauty are revered and justly encouraged by and for every citizen of this nation.
We want a nation which treasures her wild life and protects her environment with a mind geared towards the health and wealth of future generations. 
We will have a nation which gestates, nurtures, internalizes and broadcasts our radiant humanity; our grace and our elegance, our excellence, our brilliance, our loveliness, our wits and our unique and solemn beauty. A nation that we can all be proud of. We have to build it . . . together.
When does the government cease to be a true reflection of the governed?
