The minister, while acknowledging China’s progress in rice research, appealed to the Asian country to assist in training young Nigerians and rural farmers to aid food production.

Earlier, Mr. Xu Da Zhe said his visit to Nigeria was to develop partnership on agriculture and deepen friendship between the two countries.

The governor also informed the minister that the implementation of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRT) initiated by the President of China, Mr. Xi Jinping, was on course as an instrument to foster, contribute to the development of Africa and further deepen bilateral relations with people and governments in Africa.
