The Director-General of the National Gallery of Art, Abdullahi Sabo Muku disclosed this on Tuesday when the new cultural counselor of the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China Mr. Jin Hongyue paid him a visit in Abuja.

“Nigeria and China have vibrant and robust economy and many things in common in terms of the size of their population, rich cultural heritage, leadership role and natural bond,” he said.

He noted that Nigeria and China have enjoyed more than forty years mutually beneficial diplomatic ties, adding that the partnership between the two leading nations in Africa and Asia on the areas of visual arts will go a long way in further cementing the existing cordial relationship between the people of the two countries.

The Director-General expressed appreciation to China for their assistance to Nigerian artists, adding that “a staff of the National Gallery of art, Lilian Nwaozuzu Pilaku, who is currently studying in China,is one of the beneficiaries of the Chinese government’s gesture.”
