As this year’s edition of the annual Nigeria Cup—a golf tournament held to celebrate Nigeria’s Independence Anniversary—tees off on Saturday, organizers have assured participants and guests of an exciting and memorable experience.

Chairman of the Organizing Committee, Wale Onaolapo, gave the assurance during a pre-tournament press briefing at the Golf Section of Ikoyi Club 1938. He noted that the event would be one of the most colourful editions yet.

“This year’s tournament promises to be an unforgettable experience, with top notch golfers within the club competing on the challenging Ikoyi Club 1938 Golf Course for glory and recognition,” Onaolapo said.

He also extended appreciation to the tournament’s sponsors for their role in making the event possible, assuring them of value and fulfillment. “We promise our sponsors a gratifying experience,” he added.

Also speaking, Chairman of the Ikoyi Golf Community Nigeria Association (IGCNA), Rotimi Obajimi, commended the Organizing Committee for its dedication and successful preparations.

He further highlighted IGCNA’s contribution to golf development within the club. “Apart from the Nigeria Cup, IGCNA also contributes to the development of the golf section by bankrolling some of its projects,” Obajimi said.
