Nigeria Gets Seat at Global Engineering Table as NSE Nominates Yusuf

The Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) has nominated Engr. Ahmed Yusuf to a global engineering leadership body, in a move aimed at inserting Nigerian voices into international policy and technical conversations.
Yusuf will represent the Society at the Young Engineers Future Leaders Committee of the World Federation of Engineering Organizations (WFEO), following approval by NSE President, Ali Alimasuya Rabiu.
In a letter dated March 25, 2026, the NSE said the nomination followed Yusuf’s track record in engineering leadership and youth development.
The Society said it expects him to “represent Nigerian young engineers with professionalism and integrity while promoting innovation, collaboration and leadership on the global stage.”
Yusuf, who served as National President of the Nigerian Universities Engineering Students Association in 2017, has remained active in shaping conversations around the future of engineering among young professionals.
He was part of the NSE delegation to the 2018 Global Engineering Congress in London, where he engaged in discussions on challenges affecting young engineers globally.
He currently chairs the NSE Young Engineers/Future Leaders Committee.
The WFEO brings together national engineering bodies to address global development challenges through technical collaboration.
