No matter how much you allocated to Ministry of Works it will go down the drain. Nothing will ever work there because of the stench of bureaucratic corruption that is deeply engrained in the system. Nobody knows this better than Abacha. Thus the creation of PTF which you chaired and which added to your credibility. At best appoint a Minister of State to wind it down or create a brand new Ministry of Roads with a view to making our roads worthy and feeder roads that will connect farmers with markets then assign an intelligent young man as a minister.
The Federal Housing Authority and Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria should be merged with a view to making a new liquid Ministry of Housing with a mandate to build mass housing estates/units across 774 LGs. Shagari was able to achieve it. Why not PMB? Nigeria has over 75 million housing deficit. Abacha has built the largest estate in Africa. With due respect you could do better than 10,000 units in Abuja.
With Fashola as minister the sky will be the beginning of these successful projects and it will also go a long way to youth empowerments and creation of millions of jobs. You must be pragmatic and continue to be the vanguard of the people.
