A housing expert, Laja Adeoye, has stressed the urgent need for a robust and effective housing policy to address the nation’s housing deficit and promote affordable mass housing production.

He described current policies as outdated and ineffective.

Adeoye, who is the President and Chief Executive Officer of Fendini Group, a leading real estate developer spoke with newsmen in Ibadan, Oyo State.

He criticised the current housing policies calling for pragmatic approaches and strategic solutions to tackle the growing housing crisis.

“Adequately utilizing the housing sector can serve as a vital tool for economic recovery, empowering citizens and reducing unemployment in the country,” he noted.

Adeoye urged government agencies at all levels to collaborate with professional bodies in the built environment and research institutions to develop home-grown solutions that are both efficient and sustainable.

He reiterated his company’s commitment to delivering affordable luxury properties in Ibadan, highlighting their flagship project, Rayfield Gardens City Estate.

He also advocated the encouragement of local building materials, stating that there has been a growing public acceptance of these materials, despite previous apathy.

While praising the Oyo State Government’s housing initiatives, Adeoye commended Governor Seyi Makinde for prioritising the state’s development.
