The President of Dangote Group, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, has revealed that the country currently produces 60 million tonnes of cement annually.

He made the disclosure while speaking on Friday at the on-going 32nd annual meetings of the Africa Export Import Bank (Afreximbank) taking place in Abuja with the theme: “Building the Future on Decades of Resilience,”

According to him, “Nigeria is now the largest exporter of cement and currently produces over 60m tonnes of cement. This will make the country earn over $500m on just cement.

“Also, the Dangote refinery is exporting jet fuel to US and Asia and 37 per cent of fertilizer now goes to the United States,” he said.

He added that Africa is entering a new era of growth and transformation, fueled by bold investments in infrastructure, and a renewed commitment to industrialization, adding that Africa must build resilient economies through bold and strategic partnerships.

“What we are witnessing is not just Dangote refinery, it is a shift in mindset, one where Africa believes in its own capacity to lead, build, and sustain growth.”

He argued that Africa’s path to sustainable growth lies in economic sovereignty and youth empowerment, while calling on governments to set up enabling environments, invest in skills, and encourage private sector leadership to unlock the continent’s full potential. “
