Nigeria is the largest country in Africa in terms of population and economy, with a wide variety of mineral resources, including oil, natural gas, tin, iron ore, bauxite, coal, manganese, platinum, molybdenum, potash and so on, and the mining industry occupies an important position in the development of the national economy, with the value of the mining industry accounting for about one-third of the gross domestic product. The process of conventional mining consists of five main stages: exploration, mining, ore dressing and mine closure.
First, the location, size and grade of the ore body are determined through geological surveys and drilling to assess economic viability.
