Also considered to be the first in Africa, ‘Taste of love’ is fully produced in Nigeria by Nigerians, and has been described as a revolution in the Nigerian entertainment TV landscape as it sets the pace for entertainment and production excellence.
It features fast rising Nollywood star, Blossom Chukwujekwu, as Kelechi Pepple, and top Nigerian model, Makida Moka as Hadiza Musa-Phillips, who declare their love in the series.
The production is a love story based on betrayal, pain, joy, intrigues and the many turns of destiny. The story centres around three major families; the Musa-Phillips, Pepples and Rhodes families, while bad blood reigns between these families, Kelechi and Hadiza fall head- over-heels in love and must ride the tides of opposition to allow their love blossom.
Set in Nigeria’s military era of the 1990’s depicting the friendship, betrayal and hatred amongst rival sugarcane plantation families, scenes were shot in Ilorin, Ibadan and Lagos.
Will Kelechi and Hadiza’s love stand through their families’ complications or will they give up amidst the family wrangling?
Chukwujekwu, fondly referred to as Nollywood’s newest quintessential and bankable leading man, is one of Nigeria’s more recent acting discoveries, following his role in the movie, ‘Flower Girl,’ which has premiered in Nigeria, Ghana, and the United Kingdom, as well as featured at film festivals in the US and Canada. It was the closing film of the African International Film Festival (AFRIFF 2013) in Calabar, earning him nominations. These include: Most outstanding Male Actor, Best Actor in a lead role, Best New Actor and Best Kiss (with Rita Dominic).
Moka came into limelight in 2009, when she emerged the Face of Sleek, at the maiden edition of the competition, leading to a major twist in her modelling career. Her profile has been on the rise since then, making her one of Nigeria’s top models cat-walking local and international runways. She recently featured on seasons one and two of the web series ‘Gidi-Up.’
