The Senator representing Niger East, Mohammed Sani Musa, has said the All Progressives Congress (APC) bigwigs must not allow the country to slide back to dark days after President Muhammadu Buhari leaves office in 2023.
Speaking with newsmen Friday in Abuja, Musa, who is aspiring for the office of the APC national chairman, said he would re-engineer the internal structures and workings of the party to win elections beyond 2023 if given the mandate at the next national convention.

The lawmaker said bringing a new beginning to the APC leadership would create a new voice and direction to the party, and by extension create the best platform for an enduring leadership for the country for the good of all.
He said, “As he (President Buhari) nears the end of his constitutionally determined tenure, we all bear responsibility to ensure that we do not allow our country to slide back into the dark era of unbridled corruption and unfocused governance that he came to reverse.
“And we must build on those legacies while equally appreciating and commending our leader, President Muhammadu Buhari.
“It is for this reason that I am presenting myself as the candidate that can position our great party, the APC, to achieve the electoral and political outcomes necessary to ensure that we consolidate and accelerate our socio-economic transformation.”
