The Association of Nigeria Students in China (ANSIC) has elected new exco to steer the affairs of members studying in the Peoples Republic of China.
A statement signed by the electoral committee of the association gave the names of the elected exco as: “ Sameer Abdul Salam Yahaya- president; Anas Abdul -secretary general; Muhammad Aminu Saifullahi- assistant secretary general; Linu Onyinyechi Loveth-scholarship students coordinator and Aminat Tahir Maude-welfare/ social secretary.
Others are Obaoye Justina Kehinde- embassy liaison officer; Sa`ad Muhammad Garba -public relations officer and John Udoke-treasurer.
Speaking, the new president, Sameer Abdul Salam Yahaya commended members for the peaceful conduct of the elections and enjoined them to forge unify body in their activities as one Nigeria.
He said, “Under my leadership, we will work with mutual understanding with the Nigerian embassy here in China, the past excos, and alumina to solve any form of problems regarding the students’ body or related vice issues.
“This association as a pressure group shall extend it wings across PR of China to the Federal Republic of Nigeria to work closely with National Association of Nigeria Students (NANS) to press on immediate needs of students, Nigerians and good policies that will enhance Nigeria economical state for development and social well being.
“We shall strive as much as possible to organize educative and enlightening programme that will promote unity among Nigerian students here in China.’’
