The Minister of Tourism, Culture and National Orientation, Alhaji Abubakar Sadiq Mohammed has said that Nigeria is to establish cultural relations with the Royal Kingdom of Thailand.
He said this Friday in Abuja when the Ambassador of the Royal Thai Embassy in Nigeria visited him in his office. The Minister said the Ministry of Culture will be in the front burner of the cooperation between Nigeria and Thailand as Nigeria will produce a draft of the protocols for Thailand’s consideration.
“The two countries, as great nations, have so much to offer each other as the cooperation will further enhance the understanding of one another,” he said.
Alhaji Sadiq Mohammed added that the visit was very important to the cultural understanding of the two nations as there was no better time to kick start this relationship other than now.
He assured the government of Thailand of Nigeria’s cooperation in the area of cultural exchange to promote culture and tourism development in both countries.
The Ambassador, Mr. Manop Mekprayoonthrong on his part, said he was in the Ministry to kick start a mutual and cultural relations with Nigeria as the two great countries have so much to share in the areas of culture, tourism, food security, education and other areas that Thailand may be of help to Nigeria.
He said Thailand is willing to assist in promoting Nigeria’s creativity and canvassed for mutual understanding between the two countries.
