The Federal Ministry of Water Resources is set to host the 10th Africa Water Facility (AWF) anniversary celebration.
Minister of Water Resources Engr. Suleiman Adamu is expected to open the governing council meeting on Thursday, November 26, while the 10th AWF anniversary celebration will take place on Friday, November, 27.
The theme of the event anchors on Fund Raising/Replenishment of Water Fund. Nigeria is equally expected to make a commitment to the replenishment of the water fund as part of its obligation to the regional body.
The African Water Facility is managed by the African Development Bank (AfDB) as an initiative of the African Ministers’ Council on Water (AMCOW). This is to assist African countries mobilize resources for the water and sanitation sector in order to meet up with the MDGs/SDGs water and sanitation related goals, tagged ‘Africa Water Vision 2025’.
