The United World Congress of Diplomats (UN-WCD), in collaboration with the International Institute of Experts on Political Economy and Administration (IIEPEA), has endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s security strategy, describing recent Nigeria–United States joint military operations as effective and encouraging.

The diplomats made this known on Monday in Abuja at a press conference where they presented their Assessment Report on the ongoing war against terrorism in Nigeria.

They said the evolving security approach under the Tinubu administration has begun to yield tangible results, particularly through enhanced international military cooperation.

Unveiling the report, UN-WCD Secretary-General, Prof. Tunji John Asaolu, praised the growing synergy between the Nigerian Armed Forces and the United States military, noting that recent joint operations were precise, disciplined and intelligence-driven.

He said the assessment showed that despite the intensity of the operations, no civilian casualties were recorded, reflecting professionalism and strict adherence to international rules of engagement.

Asaolu said the collaboration has significantly degraded terrorist networks and weakened insurgent strongholds across several regions of the country. However, he cautioned that sporadic attacks indicate terrorism has not been completely eradicated.

He cited the recent bandit attacks at Kasuwan-Daji in Niger State, where 42 people were reportedly killed, as a stark reminder of the need to further recalibrate Nigeria’s security architecture.
