Blessing Adebanjo has committed to the University of Georgia, choosing the Bulldogs after entering the NCAA transfer portal with interest from several major programs, including Tennessee and DePaul.

The Nigerian forward said her decision was driven by more than the promise of playing time, instead centering on finding the right environment to continue her growth on and off the court.

“For me, it’s about finding the right fit,” Adebanjo said. “A program that believes in my potential and is willing to invest in me, both on and off the court.”

She added that joining Georgia represents a fresh start.

“Joining Georgia isn’t just an opportunity for me, it’s a statement. Joining Georgia feels like a new chapter for me, a home I have been searching for. I’m ready to elevate my game, develop, bring energy to the programme, grow and express myself on and off the court,” she said.

Adebanjo arrived in Athens after a promising spell at Arizona, where she showed flashes of her potential despite limited minutes. She averaged 3.7 points and 2.5 rebounds in just over 10 minutes per game while shooting 50 percent from the field.

Her best display came against Kansas State, where she recorded 17 points and six blocks in a performance that drew attention from programmes across the transfer market.
