Nigerian-born innovator builds predictive AI platform to revolutionize business productivity

Nigerian-born entrepreneur Tersoo Hulugh is among emerging innovators exploring how Artificial Intelligence (AI) can transform the way businesses operate.

Hulugh is developing a system designed to help organizations think, predict, and act more intelligently at scale.

His project, known as the Gen-AI Operations Control Tower, aims to enhance how large corporations manage back-office and service operations — such as customer support, finance, and HR — by combining predictive intelligence, automation, and explainable AI in one system.

According to Hulugh, the platform is intended to go beyond traditional chatbots or fragmented automation tools. “Most enterprise AI is a black box. I’m building this so executives can actually understand AI decisions, trust them, and stay compliant as regulation evolves,” he said.

He explained that the system serves as a “mission control center” for enterprise productivity — helping predict workload surges, assign tasks intelligently, and generate compliant responses while providing transparency into AI-driven decisions.

Hulugh’s focus aligns with ongoing global discussions about responsible and transparent AI, as highlighted by the U.S. National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) AI Risk Management Framework, which encourages trustworthy and accountable AI development.

Raised in Benue State, Nigeria, Hulugh founded Maxify Global Limited in 2019, a technology firm that provides software and digital solutions for clients in Nigeria, Canada, the U.S., and the UK.

After relocating to the United States for graduate study in Operations Management at South Dakota State University, he began researching how companies could better integrate AI into service operations. That work inspired the creation of his current project.

Hulugh has previously gained operational experience at Amazon DTW1, one of the company’s large robotics-enabled fulfillment centers, where he led a team focused on improving post-shipping efficiency.

He also contributed to the South Dakota Mesonet expansion project, which deployed weather and soil monitoring systems used for drought forecasting and agricultural planning.

“This isn’t about replacing people. It’s about freeing humans to focus on higher-value work while ensuring AI operates safely and transparently,” Hulugh said.

His journey from Benue to the U.S. tech scene underscores the growing global impact of African innovators in enterprise technology.
