A statement in Jos, quotes the Corporation boss Dr. Danjuma Dadu as saying that the award to filmmakers, coming on the heels of several others since 2007, again is a testimony to the great contribution of the film industry for the growth of the nation.  
 The Nigerian Film Industry has continued to impact positively on the Nigerian economy and beyond, providing home and theatre entertainment to millions around the world, the statement added.  Dadu described Kenneth Nnebue, Omotola Jalade Ekeinde and Ajoke Silva Jacobs as dedicated filmmakers who have carved a niche for themselves and have made the nation and their fellow filmmakers proud. The three filmmakers were honoured with the Member of the Federal Republic Award (MFR).  
 Dadu noted that the contributions of the three recipients are enormous, commendable and impactful. Their efforts have contributed immeasurably to employment generation and wealth creation.  He described Kenneth Nnebue’s ingenuity and creative instincts as the birth of Nollywood with his home Video titled “Living in Bandage” released in 1992.  
Dadu commended Joke Silva and Omotala Jakade Ekeinde for providing platforms for movie enthusiasts, especially the female gender to rise to become stars.  As amazons and role models of the film industry, Dadu further said that, the recipients should see the recognition as a call to further contribute to the sustainable development and growth of the Nigerian film industry.
