Nigerian Legion gives Ketu residents free medical check-up

The Nigerian Legion, Ketu Division, has given residents of the area free medical check-up in line with its community health outreach programmes.
The gesture was also aimed at strengthening the legion’s relationship with the community in which they operate.
Legionnaire Commander of the division, Major Babalola Fanipe (rtd), said  that the medical check-up programme was organised as a way of providing basic health check services to members of the community and contributing to the well-being of the community.
“We intend to contribute towards the sensitisation of the community on the importance of health checks and taking issues around our health and well-being seriously. The exercise is part of our pro-active and concrete steps to promote and foster the health of our members, their families as well as members of the community,” Fanipe said.
One of the beneficiaries of the free medical check-up, Mrs. Sherifat Muritala, commended the legion for organising the programme, adding that the gesture would give many poor people in the area the opportunity to know their health status.
