Speaking after commissioning the network in Abuja, Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Usman Oyibe Jibrin, assured that with the facility, a unified operational processes that will maximise return on investment is guaranteed.
“This is the first project I will commission, we should use the opportunity of this commissioning to discuss issues relevant to our operations,” he said.
The facility, which is developed in Nigeria, is powered by Phinet Systems limited and it’s technical partner Davoise Limited.
Managing Director of Phinet, Mr. Keji Oladapo, explained that NNWANI was designed to provide the Nigerian Navy with a secured and reliable infrastructure that would transform its operations to be highly efficient and technology driven.
The IT expert, who noted the relevance of embracing and adopting local content development , added that “though there is still a long way to go however what has been deployed will improve workload planning to meet mission readiness requirements”.
“The infrastructure which comprises various aspects will ultimately provide a secure access to dynamic information, integrated application and unified operational process and people thus maximising ROI in personnel and technology,” Oladapo said.
