Authorities  in  charge of the Nigerian Navy Ship (NNS), BEECROFT, have opened a state of the art sickbay in Apapa to cater for the health need of its personnel as well as host community.
Rear Admiral Fergusson Bobai, Flag Officer Commanding, Western Naval Command, Nigerian Navy, who commissioned the sickbay said the wellbeing of naval personnel was germane to national security.
“`If you don’t have a healthy manpower, their efficiency may be hampered. As for me, I am very delighted to be party to what I am seeing today,’’ he said.
Bobai said the Nigerian Navy was leaving no stone unturned in guaranteeing maximum health services for its personnel.
He advised the personnel to use the opportunity to always come for checkups as often as possible; adding that checking their health was vital to carrying out their duties.
He also said that the command would ensure proper maintenance of the sick bay, noting that the infirmary was open to civilians and navy personnel.
The sick bay has a consulting room, theatre, wards, radiology, laboratory office, pharmacy and waiting rooms for patients.
