The Law students, Chukwu Samuel and Esther Johnson-Chu, emerged joint first runners up with Georgia, with England/Wales as the eventual winner.
A statement from the University of Abuja issued by the information officer, Waziri Garba, said the international consultation competition held at the College of Law, Nebraska University, Lincoln, USA, featured Nigeria as the only African country.
The students earned the right to represent Nigeria, having emerged winners at a national elimination competition held at the Ambrose Ali University, Ekpoma, Edo State, in 2014.
The statement said that the competition was conducted in four rounds after which three finalists of Nigeria, Georgia and England/Wales emerged. 
England /Wales emerged winners of the competition with Nigeria and Georgia tied on the second position.
It said that the aim of the competition was to promote greater knowledge and interest among law students and develop interviewing, planning, analytical and preventive skills in the lawyer-client relationship in the office.
Students from Canada, Georgia, Germany, India, Indonesia, Ireland, Malaysia, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand and other countries participated in the competition.
