Nigerian students, under the aegis of Nigerian Students Forum, Malaysia (NSFM) and the Nigerian
Students Community, University of Malaya (NiSCUM), have organised separate seminars to sensitise students on nationalism.
This was part of their activities to mark the maiden edition of Diaspora Day.
The students commended President Muhammadu Buhari for recognising the contributions of Nigerians in the Diaspora and his readiness to engage them actively in national development.
The federal government of Nigeria has declared every August 24 and 25 as Diaspora Days.
President of the NSFM, Comrade Ochu Joshua, said the seminar was organised to educate Nigerian students and motivate them to be good examples wherever they are in Malaysia and other places.
Nigeria’s acting High Commissioner in Malaysia, Mrs. Janet Odeka, represented by Mr. Adeniyi Oyemade, asked students to make the best use of their time and be good ambassadors.
