Also, the home of the Deputy Senate President, Senator Ike Ekweremadu was barricaded by officials of the Department of State Police (DSS) and the EFCC on Tuesday over corruption allegations.
While these events were unfolding, the Nigerian Police denied reports that they were responsible for the siege at the residences of both lawmakers.

Don’t fall into the trap of believing that these APC & PDP actors are motivated by any noble or utilitarian ideal. It’s all a struggle for personal survival.#NASS #Senate #Saraki #37Reps

While it is just completely shameful what is going on at #NASS and I despise how our so called "Leaders" are making a mockery of this Nation, I have to hand it to #Saraki for pulling a Scandal-esque move on them. The man is not a political Scion for nothing. #Outwitted

Boss, I have come to the conclusion that the responsibility to demand accountability lies with the pple. But citizen education on this issue is zero. So until then let’s enjoy this drama: Game of Thrones. Besides, the apex court cleared #Saraki of any wrong doing. #Nigeria #NASS
