The Liberal, Progressive and Patriotic Members’ Congress (LPPMC) has begun coalition talks with other opposition groups ahead of the 2027 elections, calling on Nigerians to join what it describes as a national movement for political liberation.
At a national strategy meeting in Abuja, National Coordinator of the group, Dr. Kingsley Okundaye, said LPPMC was building alliances with the Labour Party, Nigerian Labour Congress, African Democratic Congress and other interest blocs to challenge what he called “a failed political order.”
“We are creating a coalition that will be the nightmare of every anti-people politician come 2027,” he said. “The current system has collapsed. It’s time to put the people first.”
He said the group, which started as a mobilization platform after the 2023 elections, is now activating structures across the 36 states and pushing for 774 local government reach before the end of 2025.

Dr. Okundaye warned that Nigerians cannot afford to wait till the next election cycle to begin organizing, adding that LPPMC would release a communique outlining its core demands for electoral integrity and credible leadership recruitment.
“This is not just talk. We have a 12-month plan to hit 500,000 members, mobilise funding, and return political power to ordinary Nigerians,” he said.
As part of its ongoing expansion, the group inaugurated a new set of national executives, zonal coordinators, and state-level officials during the Abuja meeting, signaling a major step in its grassroots consolidation strategy ahead of 2027.
He criticised the economic policies of the current administration, accusing it of failing to encourage local production, worsening the cost of living, and betraying the hopes of citizens.
“There is hunger, there is despair, and yet we are told to tighten our belts while the elites live large. That era is over,” he said.
Also speaking, Deputy National Coordinator, Hon. Folu Badamosi, said the group is focused on finding competent Nigerians, not moneybags or godfathers, to contest elections in 2027.
“In the First Republic, teachers and professionals became leaders based on character and competence. We must return to that era,” he said. “This is about recruiting credible leaders, not buying power.”
National Secretary, Elder Yusuf Solomon Danbaki, described Nigeria’s democracy as “suffocating” and said LPPMC’s mission is to revive it through grassroots mobilisation and political education.
“Our democracy is on life support. We’re not here for power. We’re here for purpose,” he said.
