The senator representing Bauchi South, Shehu Buba Umar, has said the socio-economic, security and other challenges facing Nigeria are consequences of the collective actions and inactions of the leaders and citizens of the country.
He disclosed this in a statement on Tuesday to celebrate Nigeria’s 64th Independence anniversary.

The senator, who is Chairman Senate Committee on Security and Intelligence, said over the years, insecurity in its various faces and dimensions had become a recurring issue that had added to the challenges of poverty and deteriorating living conditions of the common man.
