Nigeria’s Covid-19 burden rises above 5,000, with 193 new cases on Thursday

A total 193 new cases of coronavirus infections were recorded on Thursday, raising the country’s total burden to 5,162. A total 193 new cases of coronavirus infections were recorded on Thursday, raising the country’s total burden to 5,162.

Fifty-eight of the confirmed cases were recorded in Lagos, said the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control.

Another 46 were recorded in Kano.

By Thursday evening, 1,180 people have been discharged from hospital after treatment.

A total 167 people have died so far.
