Nigeria’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) grew by 4.07% (year-on-year) in real terms in the fourth quarter of 2025, according to the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS).
The bureau, in its latest report, said the growth rate is higher than the 3.76% recorded in the fourth quarter of 2024.
It stated that during the quarter under review, agriculture grew by 4.00%, an improvement from the 2.54% recorded in the corresponding quarter of 2024.
It added that the growth of the industry sector stood at 3.88% from 2.49% recorded in the fourth quarter of 2024, while the services sector recorded a growth of 4.15% from 4.75% in the same quarter of 2024.

“In terms of share of the GDP, the services sector contributed more to the aggregate GDP in the fourth quarter of 2025 at 55.92% compared to the corresponding quarter of 2024 at 55.87%.”
On an annual basis, the NBS said the economy recorded overall growth in 2025, adding that aggregate GDP at basic prices stood at N122 trillion in nominal terms.
“This performance is higher when compared to the fourth quarter of 2024, which recorded an aggregate GDP of N104.47trn, indicating a year-on-year nominal growth of 17.55%. For better clarity, the Nigerian economy has been classified broadly into the oil and non-oil sectors.”
It added that average daily oil production of crude oil was 1.58 million barrels per day (mbpd), higher than the daily average production of 1.54 mbpd recorded in the same quarter of 2024 by 0.04 mbpd and lower than the third quarter of 2025 production volume of 1.64 mbpd by 0.06mbpd.
