Nigeria’s Kamsee, 12, signs for Sony Music

Twelve-year-old pop singer Kamsi Ekpeyong popularly known as Kamsee has signed a two-year record deal with Sony Music Entertainment Africa.

It was reported that South African entertainment mogul Jandre Louw who acts as a representative for Sony Music in South Africa flew into Lagos recently to meet with the rapper’s father Gen. Peter Ekpenyong before wrapping up the deal with Kamsee.

The terms of the contract, according to unconfirmed reports, will see the company fund and oversee the recording, promotion and marketing of Kamsee’s debut album in all its markets across the world.

Often referred to as the ‘Nigerian Justin Bieber’, the JS2 student of Trinity International College, Lagos released his debut single titled ‘Friends’ with a follow up video in January 2011.

He has already performed at top shows including AY-Live, Wizkid’s album launch  concert, Stella Damasus’ album launch and the 2011 Calabar Carnival, among others.
