NIMC, we need more ID card centres in Sokoto

There is currently only one Enrolment Centre in the state, which is the state NIMC Office at Old Airport along Gusau Road, Sokoto.
The absence of Enrolment Centres in Local Government Areas including the metropolitan LGAs of Sokoto-North and Sokoto-South is causing serious hardship to the people. Many go to the only available Centre as early as 6 am daily to try to get enrolled but some would leave disappointed without being attended to due to the clearly overwhelming crowd.
Funny enough, a check on the NIMC website showed that the enrolment centre for each Local Government Area is located in the Council Secretariat in addition to the State Office and three Special Centres purportedly located at the Army Barracks, Government House and the Sokoto State Polytechnic. Unfortunately, however, there is no enrolment taking place in any of the aforementioned places, except the State Office of the Commission.
We hate to assume the public is being deceived. In view of the foregoing, we wish to make a passionate appeal to the NIMC Headquarters to intervene and cause immediate decentralization of the enrolment centre in Sokoto. This is to reduce the hardship being encountered by the people and to ensure all are enrolled before the deadline, if any, of the exercise.
