Such development according to the Permanent Secretary of the Kano State Ministry of Environment, Muhammad Badawi  would lead to a corresponding development in other sectors of the country while he called on the federal government to give due consideration to the prediction.
“The federal government is not giving consideration to very important issue like that, it is an important activity in Nigeria because once you can overcome it you can achieve success in so many areas not only agriculture and environment.
The permanent secretary while talking to Daily Trust in Kano cautioned that the prediction should be followed to the latter while he listed it among the most important issues in the country and he implored residents not to discard the 2014 rain prediction in order to overcome some environmental disasters.
He however said the prediction should not be handled in view of the last year prediction that actually some disasters had happened and substantial people losing their resources, lives and property. I think it should be respected,” he said.
While imploring all stakeholders in the environment sector to handle the prediction carefully he said the prediction is true, “They are using a long term generated data to look at it with minimum of mistakes and high degrees of accuracy.”
He called for proactiveness on the part of the stakeholders to address the attendant dangers of the prediction, “We have been opportune to know it before it happened, to be fore warned is to be fore armed.”
