The Director-General of the Nigerian Meteorological Agency and permanent representative of Nigeria in the World Meteorological Organisation, Professor Mansur Bako Matazu, disclosed this during a one-day symposium in commemoration of the World Food Day, 2021 held virtually. It had the theme, “The 2021 growing season,’ forecast, reality and the role of NiMet.”
He said if the country leveraged on seasonal climate predictions by the NiMet, it would mitigate against disasters and improve crop yields.
