“The Council, having considered the level of preparations of the host institution, resolved that the game, if concerted efforts can be made to put the facilities in shape and fine- tune arrangement towards the games, can hold at the date approved by the COHEAD,” NIPOGA Council stated.

According to the NIPOGA Council, the games, which will hold at the playing ground of the institution between May 6 to 16, will make use of the Ahmadu Bello University sporting facilities for some events.

“Most of the sports for the Games shall take place at the Main campus of the institution, while Badminton and Swimming events would take place at Ahmadu Bello University. The management of hosting institution, Nuhu Bamali Polytechnic, Zaria is poised to organize a game that would surpass the last one at Ado, which was acclaimed to be the best NIPOGA Games ever hosted,” the council said.

The communiqué released at the end of the council meeting held at Nuhu Bamali Polytechnic shows that contingents will start to arrive at the venue of the games from May 6, while accreditation will run till May 8.

Grassroots Sports leant that the opening ceremony will take place on May 8 and that competition will follow immediately and run till May 15.

NIPOGA President, Alhaji Suleiman Aliyu, expressed the readiness of NIPOGA to organise a memorable competition, pledging to do everything possible to ensure that delegates and spectators ask for more actions at the end of the games.
