The Nigeria Postal Service has commissioned a 44-unit lock up shops complex in Bauchi State to help business activities and generate revenue.
The shopping complex named after the former Post Master General Mallam Ibrahim Mori Baba was built through a Built Operate and Transfer (BOT) agreement between NIPOST and some interested individuals.
Acting Post Master General of Nigeria, Mr Enoch Adeogun said NIPOST is poised to improve its services to meet the needs of Nigerians. He said NIPOST will brace up for the challenges ahead by bringing innovations that will make the service better.
Responding, the Secretary General, NIPOST Traders Association (NTA) Bauchi, Abdurahman Raji informed that  the land was allocated to them by the immediate past Postmaster General Mori Baba in 2012.
He added that 246 units of shops were constructed in the phase I project.
Raji said 44 units of lock up shops and toilets for the phase II were constructed at the cost of about N40 million on BOT.
He explained that the shopping complex will be transferred to NIPOST after some years.
He called on Bauchi State government to facilitate enabling environment for small and medium scale industries to strive as well as attract businessmen and women from other states to the state.
