The Postmaster General of the Nigerian Postal Service (NIPOST), Mr Bisi Adegbuyi,has reiterated resolve to make the country’s postal agency NIPOST a cash cow.
According to Adegbuyi, NIPOST would be repositioned to meet global best practices and contribute to the socio-economic development of Nigeria.
Mr Adegbuyi said a transformation agenda is being worked out to make NIPOST revenues become one of the highest from among the government agencies, but noted that this could not be achieved without the support of the work force.
The NIPOST boss who made the remarks when he granted audience to the President General of the Senior Staff Association of Corporations and Government owned Companies (SSACGOC) , Comrade Muhammed Yunusa, pledged to ensure a well remunerated workforce.
He said NIPOST would soon become the pride of all Nigerians considering the comprehensive programme it has unfolded and the support from the present administration to make it succeed, advising the union leaders to work towards achieving industrial harmony among their members.
The President General of SSACGOC, Comrade Yunusa, assured the postmaster general of the support of its members, describing as commendable the recent launch of four sets of anti-corruption stamps by the agency.
Yunusa urged the new management of NIPOST to create condusive work environment for workers, make provision for requisite working materials and ensure payment of living wage to workers.
