The Postmaster General of Federation/CEO, Nigerian Postal Service (NIPOST), Tola Odeyemi, has called on the police to stop encroachment on postal agency’s infrastructure across Nigeria.

Odeyemi made the call when she paid  a courtesy visit to the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, at the Police Force Headquarters, Abuja on Friday, a statement by NIPOST said yesterday.

The statement said the meeting was aimed to explore mutual interest to handle NIPOST operations, secure its vast infrastructure across Nigeria, logistics, and foster better opportunity for economy growth.

At the meeting, the Postmaster General  highlighted the growing concerns regarding securing NIPOST vast national assets, curbing against vandalism, targeted encroachment on NIPOST infrastructure,mail,theft,fraud,and the critical role  of Postal services in supporting communities safety initiatives vital to national development.

Odeyemi, further stated that the National Addressing System being developed by NIPOST will  serve as a crucial tool for a robust national security system that will enable the police force to track criminalities across Nigeria.

IGP Kayode Egbetokun, appreciated the vital roles of postal services in connecting communities and facilitating  communications.

 

Egbetokun, emphasized the common goals of serving Nigeria security and safety of our communities.
