The Minister of Communications Barrister Adebayo Shittu, says the ministry has sent the name of the new Nigerian Postal Service (NIPOST’s) Post Master General (PMG) to President Muhammadu Buhari for approval.
The minister told journalists in Abuja that the new PMG would be saddled with major responsibility of turning around the country’s main postal service to money spinning agency.
“The name of the candidate who came top during the interview had been forwarded to President Muhammad Buhari for approval. We will make it public as soon as the President approves it”, he said at the sideline of a technology summit in Abuja last week.
He said the PriceWaterCooper conducted the interview for 21 shortlisted candidates out which one was chosen.
On the sack of the acting PMG, Mr Enoch Ade Ogun, Shittu said Ogun was not sacked but rather retired based on service rule.
