Corruption is fraudulent conduct, especially by those in power. Corruption has become normal conduct in Nigeria leading to its designation as one of the most corrupt countries in the world.

Corruption does not only involve those in power; it also involves everybody, from the grassroots to the top, every Nigerian is responsible for making the county move forward and become a better place. But to achieve this, we must fight corruption with all determination.

We must start from the schools, the workplaces, organisations,  our families and so on.

Unless we fight corruption, we will be destroying our lives and the future of those unborn.

Greed is the main cause of corruption in Nigeria.  It results in selfishness and lack of containment. We find it difficult to be satisfied with the little we have, but keep accumulating for our unborn generation; that is the problem.

We must say no to greed to fight corruption. Let us also learn to be just at all times. Justice pays, it upholds integrity and your integrity is your pride and credibility.

Once we have these two in our hearts and minds, we will be able to fight corruption.

Our leaders should have it at the back of their minds that they are to serve humanity, not the other way round.

They should see their subjects as members of their families and strive to do good to them.

Rather than steal and squander money, let’s make our country a better place for everyone, rich or poor. Let’s pay attention to the needs of the less privileged.

May I appeal to all Nigerians that it is high time we made our country a better place for us and our unborn generations. 

If we destroy our country, we have destroyed our own lives. Let us use our potential to make our country better.

We can do it if we give it a try.

Change, they say, begins with me.
