The Nigerian Institute of Quantity Surveyors (NIQS) will hold its 27th Biennial Conference and General Meeting from Tuesday, 14th to Saturday 18th November, 2017 in Abuja.
A statement issued by the institute’s Secretary Marketing and Corporate Affairs, Jide Oke, stated that the conference has the theme, Developing the Economy for Sustainable Growth: The Construction Industry as an Effective Stimulant, will be declared open by the Vice President Prof. Yemi Osinbajo. Resource persons and participants from within and outside the country, particularly member nations of the African Association of Quantity Surveyors (AAQS) as well as professionals from the construction/real estate, banking sectors are expected to attend.
Oke said the conference will open a new vista and way out of the economic malaise in the country, as various policy thrusts would be developed through the discourse.
“The grand-finale of the week-long event shall be the investiture of the new executive council and exchange of batons from the current, and the first female president of the institute, Mrs. Mercy Torkwase Iyortyer, to Mr. Obafemi Onashile on Saturday, 18 November 2017,” said the statement.
