The Nigeria Institution of Surveyors (NIS) Tuesday inaugurated new exco to pilot the affairs of the institute for the next two years.
The outgoing president Surv (Barr) Bern Omo Akhigbe who presided over the institute from 2014-2016 formally handed over to the new president, Surv. Akinloye Olufemi Oyegbola.
Akhigbe described his former deputy who emerged as the new president as someone who knows the vision of the institution and ever ready to pursue it.
“He is quite a humble man, very deep in the profession and because he is deep in the profession, he is going to take us to a greater height,’’ he said.
Oyegbola, on his own part, promised to embark on publicity and enlightenment campaigns to make people know what the institute does as well as forge unity among members.
Other elected exco members are: Surv. Alabo Charleseye D. Charles -deputy president; Surv. Olatunde Ebenezer Fagbamigbe -vice president; Surv. Abubakar Jikamshi Halilu-vice president international; Surv. Eugene Udochi – secretary general; Surv. Abiodun Akinyemi Akinde-asst secretary general; Surv. Francis Chukwuemeka Ezeh-treasurer; Surv. Emmanuel U. Evbuomwan-financail secretary; Surv. Andy Naka Nwikinnane-publicity secretary and Surv. Kazeem Kola Ajibike-internal auditor.
